- Continue to address long-term funding issues for health services. Strategies:
- Continue to provide input to the consultation process.
- Monitor System changes and position HSACCC to respond as changes impact
students and health services.
- Develop alternative funding sources for Health Services.
- Collaborate with other stakeholders to promote health services in CCCs.
- Pursue legislation for health services funding reform. Strategies:
- Identify specific legislators to develop and carry health services funding
reform.
- Develop strategies to gain legislative support.
- Develop Health Services role as an interactive participant in the Student
Services Council. Strategies:
- Communicate and strategize with the Student Services constituents to
address student services concerns.
- Garner understanding and support for health services issues.
- Collect and disseminate accurate usable data about health services in California
Community Colleges. Strategies:
- Establish a Research Committee.
- Develop and pilot a system wide data collection tool related to health
services issues.
- Maintain adequate information resources for the membership. Strategies:
- Continue ongoing web page administration and maintenance.
- Continue communication chains through electronic communication.
- Conduct educational conference in spring 2005.
- Finalize organizational restructure of HSACCC. Strategies:
- Revise by-laws to reflect organizational changes.
- Ratify by-law changes.
OBJECTIVES
- Re-define the current mission and purpose of the organization.
- Develop a revised organizational structure.
- Develop a state budget and standardized fiscal procedures.
- Modify the bylaws to reflect functional changes, organizational structure, succession, and consistency.
PURPOSES
The purpose of this Association shall be to advocate, promote and improve health services for students in the California Community Colleges by:
- Establishing and upgrading professional qualifications and program standards.
- Providing consultation, leadership and support for health services programs.
- Promotion and facilitating continuing education for health services personnel.
- Initiating, promoting and monitoring legislation that will support and advance
health care services in California Community Colleges.
- Promoting communication and support among health services personnel in California
Community Colleges.
- Conducting research and publishing in the community college health care
field.
